In the morning of November 21, the University of Science - Ho Chi Minh City held a solemn ceremony to receive the "Title of Labor Hero"  from the Vietnam government State.

President Nguyen Minh Triet came to hand  this highest award to the University of Science’s Staffs and Professors.

At this special event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan also sent a bouquet to congratulate HCMC University of Science.

In front of crowded students and professors, President Nguyen Minh Triet stated his congratulations with HCMC University of Science's achievements over the past and present . He highly appreciated  the schools’ initiatives in teaching and scientific researches, i.e. established up a Talent High School , set up a new training and eduational System of college up to University  in association with academic research. It greatly contributed on  improving the quality of education and training, creating more skilled  workers and experts for the country's development. President Nguyen Minh Triet also emphasized  on the key role of revolutionary tradition "Teaching the best and Learning the best" at school. He said: “… HCMC University of Science have to increase much more educational cooperations to obtain all knowledges and pedagogical achievements of the world. Scientific researches and applications of technology & techniques must be worked on in teaching and learning.”  Prof. ,Dr. Duong Ai Phuong – President of  HCMC University of Science addressed his sincere thanks to people, staffs and lecturers who have been contributing their devotion to the construction and development of HCMC University for a length of time. He said : “… It’s difficult to get this highest Title , but it will be more difficult to hold it; therefore, we must work harder to live up with what we achieved today to expect a higher success on new targets ahead”.

On this occasion, the University proudly announced to congratulate  2 Highest Merit Teachers , 7 Excellency Teachers and 5 Associate Professors and Professors granted by  Vietnam government State in 2010.
